Left Eye on Books

Stephen Kinzer is on Democracy Now! today talking about his book Overthrow, which recounts the last century of 'regime change' by the US. I heard him denouncing the role of the press in hyping up the 'brutality' of Spanish Colonial rule in Cuba. This is ironic for those of with long memories, who recall Kinzer's culpability in the New York Times apologies for Contra terrorism in the eighties.
